In conjuction with Sennelier, botanical artist Billy Showell has carefully selected 12 Sennelier L'Aquarelle watercolour tubes which she feels are the most useful colours to have when creating botanical paintings.

If you're looking to get into botanical painting, the colour selection in this set is perfect. The quality of Sennelier paints are fabulous and I was very pleased with the results I was getting with her colour selections. Colours are extremely vibrant and the are a beautiful transparency. I don't usually review anything (lazy), but I love these paints so much. I have tried Windsor Newton paints, but Sennelier surpasses WN in all realms. I love not just the vibrancy and rich pigmentation of these paints, as well as their beautiful colors, but I love how sticky and supple they are. I have had my paints sitting in my palette for over a month and they are still gummy and wake up easily with a damp brush (except maybe the Sennelier Yellow Deep). With the WN, I had to use a ton of water, effectively making my puddles extremely watery. Of course, if you use them straight from the tube they are fine. But to that note, these are about the same price and you get so much more volume in the tube. TLDR: These are a dream to work with and I don't think I will use any other brand for the rest of my life. Cheers. (Posted on 30.05.2017)
