Over the years I've tried many brands of Kolinsky sable, from budget brands up to hand made ones to my own specification. I'd rate these as a good 8 out of 10 and these will be my go to Kolinsky from now on, both for my Washington Green work and also for my hyperrealism which demands a quality brush. I have several kolinsky brushes, Da Vinci Maestro, Escoda Tajmyr 1212, Rosemary and co., Luxartis. The Jackson´s Tajmyr 1205 size 12 are smaller sized than Da Vinci and Rosemay but same size as Escoda and bigger than Luxartis. The very reasonable price and the high quality of the Jackson Tajmyr brush makes it a firm recommendation. I am going to by some more brushes in other sizes. A bargain! This is a very good brush! The sable hairs are top notch. They come to a perfect pin head point on wetting. Of course they carry a good amount of paint and flow release is controlled and even. You can't ask for more than that! Where previously I would most often reach for my Da Vinci Artissimo Kolinsky Sable Brushes, I find myself reaching for this one. Only one test left and that's time.
