In 2009, Winsor and Newton's entry level oil and acrylic brush, Azanta, received a number of improvements and was relaunched under the bold new name of Azanta Black.

This new improved range is great for beginners because as well as being inexpensive it is also really versatile as it’s suitable for use with Oil, Griffin Alkyd Fast Drying Oil and Acrylic colours.

All elements of the brush have been improved starting with better dressed, cleaner looking hair. We’ve used good quality hog hair, with a good degree of stiffness which is great for working with thick bodied oil or acrylic colour.

To help withstand frequent cleaning we’ve chosen a high quality corrosion resistant nickel ferrule so that the brush will last longer.

Finally, to add a contemporary touch, we’ve finished the brush with a stylish matt black handle.

Azanta Black offers brushes in both short handle, for close up detailed work, and long handle, for easel painting.

A further addition to the range is the Long Handle Large Brush Wallet containing 3 x size 12 brushes which is perfect for artists working on a large scale. This new wallet complements the two existing short handle and long handle wallets.
