This is a neat firm book. The pages open out flat. Despite being soft cover it is still quite durable and hasn't become dog-eared in my bag. The paper is a good warm colour, about the colour of a flat white coffee: clearly a brown colour, but not too dark. Black ink shows up well.
The paper is like cartridge paper, matt and strong, superb for pen and ink. It takes watercolour fine, although it buckles a bit for a really wet wash - it's 140gsm so that's reasonable. I have also been using Winsor and Newton watercolour sticks, dry, which work brilliantly.The white stick shows up well.
There's no bookmark and no back pocket.
