Van Gogh soft pastels have a slim, round profile - the edges are excellent for detail work, while the sides offer broader coverage. Composed of high-quality pigments and kaolin clay, the pastels have a velvety appearance and are not crumbly.

Pastels work fantastic on grounds with tooth that can hold the pastels. Pastel drawings and paintings are not smudge-proof, and we recommend you use a fixative on top of the finished artwork.

Pigments are free of heavy metals: lead, cadmium, and cobalt.
