Zest-it Printmakers Cleaner is a safer, non-flammable, alternative solvent for use in the printmaking studio. It will clean oil based inks from plates, inking slabs, and with care from rollers. It will also remove bitumin and wax based grounds and stop-outs.

You can wash your scrim in the Printmakers Cleaner and then hang the scrim outside to dry. Leave the used Cleaner to stand and then pour off the clear fluid into a seprate container for re-use.

Like many of Zest-it's other products it has low VOC's, contains no CFC's or Aromatics, and has a pleasant citrus smell. Care must be taken however to avoid prolonged contact with skin, use a barrier cream or nitrile gloves, and do not eat, drink or smoke when using.

Caution - when cleaning Nitrile and rubber rollers, brush the fluid onto the roller, catching the excess for reuse, and wipe the fluid from the roller with a cloth. You can give a final clean with soapy water and then dust with talc for storage. Do not let the roller sit or soak in the fluid as this can cause distortion.
