Sophia Swift is a London based artist who is best known for her dynamic urban landscapes rendered in bold acrylic colour. Her work is influenced by street art, comic strips and cartoons. For the artist and viewer alike, her work allows us to escape the everyday and enter a parallel universe where the urban landscape is recognisable yet that much more alive, adrenalin fuelled, and exciting. Sophia studied fine art at Middlesex University and when she is not creating her parallel universe she is managing the customer service and sales office at Jackson’s Art Supplies!
Sophs was recently asked to design and create a summer themed backdrop to the one day celebration of folk music at London’s Hackney Attic, the Folk Modern Summer Bonanza, curated by Steve Folk. We asked Sophs about the project in between calls from the customer service line.
