Commended Entry: Diane Rafferty
Silk Screen print, 12cms x 12cms
‘Little study of people milling about on a lazy, summer Sunday morning. Layering of colour and texture using multiple silk screens, to achieve some, subtle depth.’
Jackson’s Judging Panel:
‘Diane’s beautiful little silkscreen print is dynamic and playful. The color-scheme mimics bright sunlight shining through closed eyelids while the imagery shifts between recognizable forms and abstract shapes. It acts like the mind of someone dozing in the summer sun; a slow, unfocused, indiscernible churning of memories that become fleetingly disrupted by the shadows of birds flying overhead.’
