Watercolour and Illustration Boards offer the convenience of an extra-thick, stable board that eliminates the need for stretching and mounting of watercolour paper, so the surface is already prepared for you and your finished work is then ready to frame, eliminating a step as well as the added expense.The Saunders Waterford board features a 100% rag, heavyweight surface paper whose durability is appropriate for repeated washes, mounted to a heavy board. The Daler-Rowney Line and Wash Board uses a whiter watercolour paper that is great for illustration. The Arches is made with their high-quality watercolour paper. The Schoellershammer is made with their popular 4G paper. The art boards vary in availability of hot press, cold press and rough surfaces. The Canson pastel board has Mi-Tientes paper mounted on white, acid-free, lignen-free, archival conservation board.
