Barbara Diethelm is a painter and artists’ colour manufacturer whose work bridges the creative, spiritual and material realms. Born in Zürich, Switzerland she studied Humanities at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute. In 1994, she took over Lascaux Colours & Restauro, a global leader in premium water-based artists’ colours and conservation materials. In 2004, she and her husband, painter Werner Schmidt, founded Fondation Lascaux, dedicated to exploring the role of colour in emotional and spiritual development and its connection to a holistic understanding of culture, science, and economics.
