Each year we make improvements to our competition to make it as easy as possible for you to enter your work. Here is a step-by-step guide to submitting your artwork to Jackson’s Art Prize 2024.
Submitting Your Artwork to Jackson’s Art Prize
REGISTER AS AN ENTRANT
Begin by registering yourself as an entrant on our competition software. You can get there from the Jackson’s Art Prize website or by clicking here.
Once you have entered your email you will receive a 6 digit security verification code to your email. Enter the code on our awards platform and you will then have access to the registration form and can register for an account. Your account for submission to Jackson’s Art Prize is separate to your Jackson’s Art store account.
SUBMIT YOUR ARTWORK
When you are ready to enter your artwork, log in and click Start entry
The Entry Form will appear. Each artwork will require a separate Entry Form. We’ve updated the entry form this year to allow entrants to submit up to two images of their artwork.
Once all fields have been completed, click either Save or Submit Entry.
Click Save if you are entering more than one artwork into the competition and you wish to pay for them all together in one transaction. You might also click Save if you would like to return to pay for and submit your entry later.
OR
Click Submit Entry to take you through to the payment section. At this point, if you have more than one entry, you will be able to add each of them to the cart.
Once you have completed your payment details, click Proceed to payment to complete your submission.
You will receive a notification email to confirm your entry has been submitted successfully.
If you would like any assistance with your entry or anything else related to the competition, please contact: artprize@jacksonsart.co.uk

Hi Pippa,
Thank you for your message – I’ve just confirmed you manually so you should be able to now log in and start your entry. All the best in the competition! Christine
Hi Rossana, thank you for your message. As soon as the Long List is announced (which will be around the 30th March) the public are invited to vote on their favourite works. The artwork which receives the most votes will win the People’s Choice Award. Hope this helps 🙂
Hello, this is the first competition that I have entered so
please excuse me for asking what is probably a silly
question. In the size of artwork section, is this just for the art
work itself? Mine is painted on 9×12 inch block so the paper
is only approximately 0.5cm deep. Is this what I should enter
or should I enter the size of it framed? Thank you in advance.
Hello Michelle,
There are no silly questions when it comes to entering the competition! Especially if it’s your first time. It makes perfect sense that you would want to get it right and we are more than happy to help.
At the initial submission stage, you only need to provide the dimensions of the artwork itself. Height x Width x Depth and we measure in centimetres.
Follow this link for the complete Rules, Guidelines and Submission Criteria or you can email me clare@jacksonsart.co.uk.
All the best,
Clare
I’m using my iPad, but don’t understand
how to name the photo file as instructed as
changing a file name can’t be done on an
iPad apparently
Hello Gillian,
Thanks for getting in touch. This is common issue with iPads and unfortunately, I haven’t found a solution to it yet.
However, if you would like to send the images to me here: clare@jacksonsart.co.uk I will rename them for you. Alternatively, you could complete your entry and when you’re done, let me know and I will update the image file names for you.
Kind regards,
Clare
Hi, I understand we should send a digital
image of the artwork. If chosen, are we
required to send the actual artwork?
Unmounted? Thank you!
Hello Luisa,
Thanks for getting in touch. If you are shortlisted and based in the UK, you will be invited to send in your work (if under 1.2 m on longest side) to be considered for the Jackson’s Painting Prize finalists exhibition at the Affordable Art Fair Hampstead. However, this is not compulsory. If exhibited, your work must be for sale, for less than £6000. Furthermore, if you do decide to send it in, the work must be exhibition-ready for us to hang. This might mean a frame or not. Just however you choose to display it.
In saying that, Jackson’s Painting Prize can be won on a jpg of the artwork alone, as it is not required to be from the UK, nor to exhibit to win the main prize, or any of the other prizes.
I hope that helps and if you have any more questions, feel free to get in touch.
Best, Clare
Hello, I wonder if you could help me, I can’t seem to find a way to
name my file? I’ve tried on my iPad and MacBook. I’m sure there’s
an easy way but I can’t find it and would be really greatful for your
help,
kind regards Michelle
Hello,
Once we have submitted our works will we
have to send in the originals?
Hi Hugo,
The competition is all online. However, if you are a UK based shortlisted artist, you will be invited to send your work to us to be considered for the Affordable Art Fair Hampstead finalists exhibition in September (social distancing regulations permitting). Otherwise, you will not be required to send the physical work to us, unless specifically requested. You can find out more in the FAQ section of Jackson’s Painting Prize website or email jpp@jacksonsart.co.uk.
Thanks, Clare
Hello. I am preparing my submission and I
signed up as an emerging artist… I
perhaps should have signed up as a
professional artist (I sell my work and
have gallery representation, but am in no
way well-known) but I was not sure of the
difference. Does this matter? Thanks for
your feedback.
Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for your question. It’s up to you how you define yourself as an artist. The definitions are there as a guide really.
If you’re unsure or would like to change it, you can change anything on your entry form all the way up until the deadline.
All the best,
Clare
