Lyn Kirkland is a professional artist and brand ambassador for R&F. She visited the Jackson’s studio to demonstrate how she paints with R&F Encaustic Wax and Pigment Sticks.
In this film, Lyn takes us through the tools and equipment needed to get started with encaustic wax painting. She also explains how she creates texture and depth in her artworks by building up layers of wax alongside other materials, such as inks, mica powders and pan pastels.

this is the very best and thurough demo of Rand F I have ever seen. is there a different technique for COLD WAX
Hi Anne. Glad you liked it!
Yes Cold Wax is completely different. It is an additive for oil paints, applied with no heat. It makes a thick pasty oil paint, but it is often applied with similar tools to the encaustic: spatulas, scrapers and carvers.
