Marabu : Contours & Effects Outliner

Marabu Contours & Effects is a water-based paint designed for creating outlines, details, and decorative effects on silk. In addition to fine outlining, it can be used to paint small shapes, apply highlights, or work with stencils, offering flexible creative options within silk painting.

The colours coordinate with Marabu Silk and Marabu Silk Colour shade groups, allowing them to be combined easily within a single piece. When used alongside Marabu Velvet Touch, contrasting surface effects can be achieved. The 25ml liner features a fine tip for direct application, with optional Marabu paint tips available for very fine lines and detailed work.

Marabu Contours & Effects can be applied to untreated silk, silk dyed with Marabu Silk Colour, or silk painted with Marabu Silk. When used as an outliner, it resists paint flow on light to medium-weight silks, while heavier silks may require thicker lines or application on both sides to prevent bleeding. Once dry, the product is fixed by ironing or oven fixing, following the recommended instructions.

After fixing, the paint is wash- and dry-clean resistant. When used as a clear-outliner and iron-fixed, it can be soaked and washed out. Brushes and tools should be cleaned with water immediately after use.
