Info
Schmincke Watercolour Ox Gall is a natural wetting agent for degreasing of undercoats before painting with watercolours or gouache. It is designed to improve the flow, wetting, and absorption of watercolour paints on paper. A few drops added to water or directly to the paint help colours spread more evenly, especially on hard or heavily sized surfaces, enhancing blending and wash techniques.
Used sparingly, it is also suitable as a levelling agent for watercolours. Dissolved ox gall tends to flocculate (suspended particles clump together) after long storage, but does not influence applying this medium.
