Can I mix the safe wash opaque white with blue to get a lighter
blue. Also, what does extender, oils, and other safe wash products
do. Love the the product.
Hi Donald
Yes, you can definitely mix your own colours.
The extender makes the ink more transparent – you keep the same body of the ink but with less pigment because you’ve mixed in the clear extender. This is useful if you want to make two colours do the job of three – for example: print a yellow banana, then print a transparent blue background overlapping the stem of the banana. The transparent blue on the yellow will give you a green stem. Also, it’s another way to get a lighter blue, as the weaker blue on the white paper looks lighter.
This is the information we have on the other medium:
Add a little Caligo Wiping Compound to Caligo Safe Wash Etching Ink (or any oil-based etching ink) if you want to make wiping a little easier.
Also useful as a tack reducer for Caligo Safe Wash Relief Ink (or any oil-based relief ink).
Improves ink transfer on difficult papers.
