Lisa Takahashi , thank you for a useful article. The tool you demonstrated for drawing parallel lines is of great interest. What is it called, and where can I find one?
I think you might be thinking of the Ruling Pen. It looks like it might be for drawing parallel lines because it has two blades, but it actually draws a single line. The two blades act like a dip pen nib, where the pen is slit down the middle and that channel acts as a reservoir for the ink. A ruling pen can be used with any liquid and by adjusting the wheel you can determine the width of the line made, like pressing harder on a dip pen to spread the two sides of the nib and make a wider line.
Valuable information and visuals.
Great instruction. Definitely worth
the watch.
