Jackson’s Handmade Soft Pastels are a comprehensive, artist quality range made from the finest raw materials. Available in 200 rich and vibrant colours they have a smooth buttery consistency and incredible softness that glides effortlessly onto paper.
Carefully made by hand, they are gently hand rolled to avoid over-compression of the pastel’s ingredients. This process creates pastels that deposit brighter and more saturated hues. The pastels are made solely from fine pigments, a bentonite clay binder, and calcium carbonate (chalk).
Colours and brilliant and luminous and the low binder-to-pigment ratio of Jackson’s soft pastels allows for both subtle and bold mark making. With the exception of the four fluorescent colours, Jackson’s soft pastels have excellent lightfast qualities so that artwork will not deteriorate over time.
