TLC DECK OF CARDS

The TLC Deck of Cards is a collaboration between artists and public figures who have been commissioned by Dame Floella Benjamin to each design a playing card from a deck of cards. Featured artists include Grayson Perry, Richard E. Grant, Sir Quentin Blake, Jake and Dinos Chapman and more. The sale of the original artworks and decks of cards will help to fund the life saving work of Transplant Links Community (TLC) - a charity which shares surgical and medical skills with transplant teams around the world so that life-saving kidney transplant operations can be performed in Africa and the Caribbean by local surgeons, saving thousands of lives. We sold the cards online, with 100% of the profits going to TLC.

Artist Support Pledge is a culture and economy in support of artists and makers, now a global movement, created by artist Matthew Burrows in response to the COVID-19 pandemic using social media platform Instagram. Artists and makers post their images using #artistsupportpledge giving details of their works and price (no more than £220 or equivalent), anyone can buy the work and artists don’t need permission to join, every time an artist reaches £1,100 of sales, they pledge to buy £220 of work from other artist(s). At the start of 2023, the Jackson’s Award was introduced; participants are selected weekly to win a Jackson’s Art Voucher.

TREES FOR LIFE

As of February 2024, we have planted over 1800 trees with Trees for Life - a conservation charity dedicated to revitalising wild forests in the Scottish Highlands - to offset the environmental cost of producing our catalogues and printed publications. Like many of our customers, the staff at Jackson's are inspired by the beauty of landscape and nature, so this scheme is a good way to support a very worthy cause.

Migrate Art asked us to produce paints for their Scorched Earth Project using ash from burnt crops in Iraqi Kurdistan, which were destroyed deliberately by militia groups. Tubes of Scorched Earth were sent to 15 leading contemporary artists including Antony Gormley, Anish Kapoor and Richard Long. Each artist used the paint to create original artworks for auction, and the funds raised were divided between Migrate Art’s charity partners who support those affected by the global refugee crisis.

Following on from the success of Migrate’s Scorched Earth Project, we partnered with Migrate on their large-scale venture, From the Ashes, in aid of the indigenous Xingu communities of the Amazon Rainforest who have been deeply affected by deforestation and climate change.

Simon Butler, Migrate Art’s founder and director, spent three weeks in the Amazon Rainforest and with permission from the tribe leaders, gathered and collected ash and charcoal from the burnt areas of the forest, which we help turn into paint, ink, and pastels, which was then used by high profile contemporary and indigenous artists to create original works of art. The artworks were auctioned at Christie’s to raise money to help the Xingu in their fight against illegal deforestation.

Sponsorship Criteria

We love to extend our passion for art materials with like minded audiences, so feel free to pitch your project to us using the Sponsorship Proposal Form. We most commonly support with materials and vouchers, but feel free to pitch your idea and let us know what you have in mind.

There are many exhibitions, graduation shows, art clubs, art groups and workshops that we support in spirit but are unable to offer sponsorship, given the sheer number of requests. Instead, we encourage students to join our Student Program and teachers to join our Teacher Program to receive discounts greater than 10% on certain ranges.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with our Partnerships Team at partnerships@jacksonsart.co.uk
