The Polymetaal Etching Press range includes versatile etching presses in a variety of sizes and configurations, from compact tabletop models such as the HS-35 to larger JH-30, JH-50, and HP-60 presses. Designed for both intaglio and relief printing, the presses feature durable, pressure-resistant print beds, solid steel frames, and spring-assisted upper rollers, making them suitable for etching as well as lino and woodcut printing. Depending on the model, the presses are driven directly via the lower roller or by the upper roller, with removable star-wheel spokes making them easier to transport and store.
The plate/print beds are made of laminated paper sheets, in liquid resin, pressed under high pressure and temperature, then finished with a white melamine coating. They have several advantages over metal beds in that they will not warp or oxidise, are very pressure resistant, and are easy to draw registration marks on.
The JH-30, JH-50 and HP-60 presses are available with a stand or without.
