Daniel Smith Watercolour Paint Ground can be used to prepare paper, board, or canvas with a tinted watercolour ground. A foundation of Watercolour Ground gives virtually any surface a new texture similar to cold pressed watercolour paper. You can achieve the same distinctive, transparent qualities of watercolour on wood, metal, ceramic, plastic, glass, stone, plaster and more. This archival-quality ground can also be used to add texture or cover flaws and comes in six colours: Titanium White, Buff Titanium, Mars Black, Iridescent Gold, Pearlescent White and Transparent.

Tinting also allows you the option of matching your painting foundation to any object you wish to paint, creating an invisible surface. Try tinting your watercolour ground with Aureolin and give a golden glow to your watercolour paper when painting sunny landscapes.
