Rohrer & Klingner : Etching Transparent Ground : 11g

Rohrer & Klingner Etching Transparent Ground is a wax hard ground designed to coat an etching plate as an acid resist. Because it is light-coloured and transparent, it can be used for preparing plates where the drawing needs to remain visible through the ground. It can be melted onto a heated metal plate and then applied by either a roller or a dabber until it is spread evenly over the plate. A tool such as an etching needle can then be used to draw into the ground.

This hard ground is suitable for most etching processes and is soluble in turpentine. It is also available in black.

Rohrer & Klingner was established in 1892 by Johann Adolf Rohrer in Leipzig, Germany, and remains one of Europe’s premier ink and tusche producers.
