Info

Art Spectrum Soft Pastels provide the artist with colors that are pure, brilliant and intense, and remain that way. The very best pigments are selected and triple milled at maximum concentration to bring out the finest color and provide the rich, velvety bloom valued by pastellists. This method of production produces smouldering darks, brilliant and intense pure colors and a range of subtle and delicate tints. All Art Spectrum pure pigment pastels are free from heavy metals, asbestos or other toxic substances. Each pastel measures 70x12mm.

The code of each color within the Art Spectrum range has a letter at the end of the code, indicating its shade: D = Darkest, N = Dark, V = Very Tinted, X = Extra Tinted, P = Pure Pigment, T = Tinted

I have been meaning to try AS pastels for a while, and I'm glad that I have. The colour saturation is superb, being really rich velvety colour that is not at all scratchy or hard. They are harder than maybe Jacksons Artist pastels, or Sennelier, and slightly softer than Rembrandt. They give up their rich colour evenly and mix well with other pastels. The price? maybe a little pricey but they are worth it in my honest opinion. Finally, the package doesn't initially look great, but I was amazed at how strong it really is, protecting the pastels perfectly and being re-useable time and again. I am going to buy some more, the true lights set when they come back in stock.
