Caran d'Ache : Artist Neopastel

Caran d'Ache Neopastels are cylindrical wax pastels (also known as oil pastels). They possess a soft and velevety texture that glides on to surfaces. They are wax-based and not watersoluble. They can be thinned out using solvents such as Turpentine or a low-odour solvent, making them really versatile and easy to use over regular oil paint. You can apply neopastels in a number of ways: dip a brush into solvent, apply neopastel to the brush and paint with the color in thin stains and washes, or draw it on dry to create color-saturated marks, or etch marks into already applied wet oil color, leaving behind a deposit of subtle color. The sticks are flat ended so you can apply broad marks and thin marks (using the edge of the end of the stick). Unlike regular pastel they will not crumble or powder. There are 96 color in the range which are all classified as having excellent lightfastness. A beautiful wax crayon pastel that has great coverage and can be used for both expressive drawing and painting techniques.
