Info

Caran d’Ache is always searching for technical innovations and once again it demonstrates it's Swiss Made expertise in colors. It has combined a high concentration of extra-fine pigments with excellent solubility to create Museum Aquarelle: watercolors in the form of a pencil. With this new approach to the traditional technique, amateur artists and watercolor painters will never look at watercolors in the same way again.

Wonderful to use as with all Caran d'Ache MA pencils; it's definitely a light cad red colour so is slightly more orange-leaning than in the picture. Colour particularly strong/stunning when water is applied.

Lovely deeper purplish red when dry then explodes into a vibrant almost hot-pink colour when wet.

Stunning subtle rich grey colour. Just gorgeous with mixed media/watercolour combinations for subtle highlights/shading.

High quality pencil with strong pigment payoff when used dry; slightly less saturated when spread with water. Stunning bright turquoise/teal colour and is great for mixed media highlights with watercolour. Lots of youtube videos with swatches to assist with colour choices.

High quality pencil with strong pigment payoff. This colour is a gorgeous pinky taupe colour (the Jackson's swatch on my computer is coming up as a reddish colour which isn't the case). Lots of youtube videos with swatches to assist with colour choices.

Not quite so carmine as I expected but a useful ruddy brown for tree bark

Excellent. Usually I would not spend this much on a watercolour pencil but these are fantastic and Jackson's Art had a sale on them.

Brilliant, I didn't realise there was more than one shade of white until I bought this one

This pencil gives a lovely line and blends or spreads, depending what you do with it. Paynes gray is so much better than black for a softer look.

Superb quality - much superior to any other brands that I have used.

Only 'good' because the lemon yellow is, as you might expect, very light in tone and the other dozen or so pencils I bought were gorgeous, stunning saturated colour and therefore merited the 'excellent' rating! Lovely pencils - very happy with them. Only time will tell how permanent they are, but I'm extremely hopeful.
