Cretacolor : Aquamonolith - A SET OF 36

I bought these because I am a big fan of the Cretacolor Monolith graphite pencils. They are quite a bit harder than other watercolour pencils that I have used so they don't lay down as much colour but they do sharpen to a much finer point and are great for detail work. One of the pencils in my tin was broken and when you peel off the wrapper you can use it like a Conte crayon. When used with water the washes are fairly weak but you can break them up or grate them or use sandpaper to get much stronger colour. Save your shavings! My one gripe with these is they are not the same thickness as the graphite Monoliths and so don't fit the pencil extenders I use!
