System 3 colors are highly versatile and easy-to-use acrylic colors which offer an excellent painting experience at an economical price. The colors can be used straight from the tube, thinned with water, or mixed; All System 3 colors are intermixable. Each paint layer will dry quickly to a water-resistant finish, and can be painted over once dry. Suitable for interior use on paper, canvas, wood and various other supports. As they are not lightfast, fluorescent colors are not recommended for exterior use; all other colors are both lightfast and durable.

Because they are relatively economical, artists often use System 3 acrylics for mixed media works or to paint undercoats for works in oils, pastels or acrylic inks. When used with the System 3 Acrylic Printing Medium, System 3 colors will produce an economical, low-odour, water-based screen printing ink which is regarded worldwide as the finest of its kind and, being solvent-free, is ideal for use in schools, studios and at home.
