The Derwent Drawing Pencil has a texture similar to Derwent Lightfast Pencils and, like the Lightfast range, is rated 100% resistant to color change for up to 100 years. The key difference is the core: Derwent Drawing uses a wax-based formulation rather than oil. Colors blend cleanly and mix with ease on the page, and the rich, opaque laydown shows up beautifully on mid-tone and dark papers.
Each pencil features a 5mm core, the widest in the Derwent range and among the thickest artists’ quality pencils available. This extra-wide color strip supports stronger mark-making, rapid coverage, and confident layering when building dense fur or feathers.
