This envelope of Jackson’s Two Rivers Watercolor Paper Sample Swatches contains three 8.9cm x 8.9cm samples in 140lb, 200lb, and 300lb.
Made exclusively for Jackson’s by the Two Rivers paper mill in Somerset. This paper is of conservation quality, made with 100% cotton and linen rag and is very hard-sized. This means that the surface is incredibly tough, allowing the artist to work the surface for much longer than with more absorbent artists papers. Because the paint is not drawn into the paper the pigment dries to a sharp and brilliant finish. The inclusion of linen in its make-up results in an unusually tough surface that will resist much lifting out, scrubbing, and re-working.
Two Rivers has a unique random surface texture unlike the mechanically even weave of most other branded papers. This also means that there is no right or wrong side as both sides are identical. As well as watercolor, our papers are used for other media including pastels, oils, printmaking, photographic processes, and many types of mixed media. The NOT surface is slightly rougher than most.

Brilliant
I'm hopeless with watercolor so don't take me too seriously, but this is the only paper (of many I tried) which actually "worked".

Quality paper. It's quite small, I should have checked better the size.

Glad I bought a sample first. I tried about 10 papers at the same time to make the fairest assessment. Maybe I got a bad batch but the water beaded up quite badly leaving white patches. It also had a lot of drag which felt weird.

Very thick and extremely rough textured paper. The small sample sizes were a too small to attempt much on. I like a rough textured paper, but this was much too rough for my style of painting.

The size of the samples could have been a bit larger.If you are testing a new paper, a narrow strip is not enough.I might need to order a full sheet now to test the paper.
