Love the paper, and the format. The weight of the paper and the cotton content make it perfect for watercolor sketching, and, depending on how much water do you use, even more “finished” work.

I use this sketchbook for sketching outdoors. It works for me. The size is right for carrying about, and there are enough pages. I use pen and light wash, so I find the paper doesn't cockle too much. The binding is strong and the book opens out flat, which is helpful for scanning the picture and for making pictures which go across two pages. I like the surface, which is "NOT" or cold-press type texture, not entirely smooth and not rough. There's no pocket at the back, no bookmark, and no elastic band to keep it closed, but I'm am fine about that. I use bulldog clips to keep the book open when working and to close the book tightly to flatten the drawing when I've finished. The reason it's 4 stars rather than 5 is because: - the paper is not entirely opaque. If I write on the back of a page, it is just visible on the white parts of a drawing on a previous page. I don't normally draw on both sides of a page for this reason. - the paper is fine for many purposes but not for lifting watercolour off, to make clouds for example. It just doesn't lift off. It's a pity the cover is only black. I'd like a white or coloured cover I could write on. But in general I like this book and will re-order.

Really disappointed with this sketchbook, looks nice enough but the the paper is awful, you do expect a bit of buckling but this is hills and valleys, and the paper rubbed off when I tried to blend the colours, I didn't soak the paper, just added a bit of colour to a small pen drawing, it buckled so bad I couldn't finish the painting, for paint collecting and running into the buckles in the paper, the design also shows through on the other side, totally wasted my money on this,

Really Disappointed with this book, the paper is awful, its Thin, buckles like crazy, tried some Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils with it, they wouldn't blend evenly, a total waste of money
