Info
The most widely used plywood in Japan for Moku Hanga (Japanese water-based woodblock printing). Shina 'Tilia Japonica' is a sustainable timber grown in the colder parts of Japan and is renowned for its fine, almost undiscernable grain. It is manufactured into Shina Plywood that is soft and easy to carve and is favoured by printmakers for its ability to hold detail and sharp edges during the printmaking process. This easy to cut plywood also works well with oil based inks and western style woodcut tools.
