Liquitex Satin Gel Medium increases the texture of your paint and extends the volume with a satin finish. This medium is suitable for painting techniques such as impasto, glazing (when used with transparent colours), blending and softening edges, as well as collage and decoupage, and photo transfers. It is also suitable as a strong collaging adhesive. Lightfast and archival, this medium helps to extend colour without affecting stability, slows drying time, and enhances the appearance of brushstrokes. Mixing into Heavy Body Acrylic will extend volume and maintain viscosity, while mixing into Soft Body or Acrylic Ink will extend volume and thicken the paint.
How to use: Mix as much medium as you like into acrylic colour to create the viscosity and transparency desired - the more you add, the more transparent the colour will become. It can be thinned by diluting with up to 25% water - distilled water will give the best results. Semi-opaque when wet, transparent when dry.
Do not shake or vigorously over-brush as this can result in a foggy, hazy look when dry. Do not use with non-acrylic media.
