Great product but nibs are a VERY tight fit with arthritic hands it can be difficult.

This is poor quality. Veneer cracks after one use and the prongs inside are not springy enough to retain pressure on the nib used. Yes, its cheap, but I have cheaper pen holders that are much better

BUT the mahogany finish started to split away after its 1st use.

The metal core comes out of the wooden handle every time a nib is removed. I have glued the bottom of the core and its ok

Like many artists, I enjoy using dip pens & watercolours, but dislike plastic & more modern pens which personally I cannot hold. They slip, slide & ultimately lead to smudges etc, as do some wooden versions with a varnish coating (which before now I have sanded off, simply to get a better grip). I used wooden pens many years ago, but until now had seen nothing I liked the look of to replace them. The products looked exactly what I needed. I bought two of their plain wooden pens, which I have to say, I have found to be superb. They are secure enough to hold nicely in my fingers, no slipping here, so no need for any personalised sanding! Your choice of nibs are easily installed & securely held. I have used them for a few weeks now & I have been impressed with how my work is turning out. Nib choice is critical, but the narrower ones I am using work just fine for me. All in all, I have to recommend the pens very highly indeed. The price is a bonus too!

I used wooden pens many years ago, but until now had seen nothing I liked the look of. The products looked exactly what I needed. I bought one to try with a cork collar, as after a while my fingers start to get a little slippy & I thought the cork would help with this. It is superb. Secure enough to hold nicely, no slipping here at all & no sanding to do either. Your choice of nibs are easily installed & securely held. I do like the cork pen, nicely balanced, but with the extra benefit of a non slip surface for your fingers to grip!

A lovely holder for small nibs like Speedball "crow quill" and such. The metal spring allows easy insertion and removal. Best holder I've found for small nibs, head and shoulders above "all-plastic" holders.

This pen holder is a nice length and size, and sits comfortably in my hand. It has a 'leaves' type holder to fit the nip rather than a slot, and fitted all three Manuscript nibs that I bought with it. However it has one MAJOR flaw - as soon as the pen came into contact with a few drops of water, within the first hour of use (as I was rinsing my nib), the veneer completely cracked in two places and started coming off into my hands, and the holder basically fell apart. It is obviously made of a very inferior material, which is rather disappointing. Due to this I can't recommend it. I know this one is cheap, but spend a few extra pennies and get one of the more expensive holders, I'm sure it will be worth it.
