I've tried many other sketchbooks but I just love these ones, used this type since I was a student (too long ago), they're strong, last a lifetime of abuse in my bag and the paper is a great thickness at 130gsm too.

Good, inexpensive sketch book; particularly nice for graphite pencil sketches. It won't take many CP layers before the tooth gives out, but it's decent paper, well-bound, and portable with an elastic strap to keep it closed.

I love this sketchbook. The A5 fits nicely in my handbag, which allows me to take it with me literaly everywhere. I have sketched so much more since I have these.

Have had a few of these journals now and really like them. The paper is thick enough to cope with watercolour as well as pencil or pen, has a nice grain, and isn't too white or yellow. They're a good size for taking anywhere in a bag, and the back pocket is handy for collage cut outs/exhibition guides/loose photos etc
