Silver Brush Black Velvet brushes are made from a blend of Squirrel hair and a new type of synthetic filament called Risslon. Because they are blended, these premium short-handled brushes possess the durability and spring of a synthetic brush, and the liquid-holding capacity of a squirrel mop, making them a great investment for any watercolorist. They are designed for use with water-based paint; principally watercolor, inks, dyes and silk paints.
The black Risslon filaments are mounted in black ferrules. Just behind the ferrule, the brush bears a distinctive silver neck band which contrasts with the glossy black finish of the handle.

My second time purchasing a Silver Black Velvet Brush and it's so much fun to work with. Very fine tip, holds lots of water, has a nice grip to it - this brush will definitely be used a lot more in the future.

Have had a chance to use it only once and i have been pretty happy with it. Get great marks from this brush, holds good amount of water. Very good for small details.

I ordered the whole range from 2 to 12. This was my firsy Jackson's order and first high quality brushes so I was very excited! I checked every day where the parcel is! Finally, I got them! And oh no! What a dissapointment - these brushes are so soft, I couldn't manage to get the lines I wanted. I must mention I was a complete beginner - just 6 months after I got my first watercolors (cheap chalky cakes from China). Now, 6 months later, I have to say - these brushes are amazing! So versatile, high quality and even after a lot more ordered brushes these are my precious. Just give them some time if you are still a beginner.
