Silver Brush Black Velvet brushes are made from a blend of Squirrel hair and a new type of synthetic filament called Risslon. Because they are blended, these premium short-handled brushes possess the durability and spring of a synthetic brush, and the liquid-holding capacity of a squirrel mop, making them a great investment for any watercolorist. They are designed for use with water-based paint; principally watercolor, inks, dyes and silk paints.
The black Risslon filaments are mounted in black ferrules. Just behind the ferrule, the brush bears a distinctive silver neck band which contrasts with the glossy black finish of the handle.

Bought these softer brushes after I bought the A Gallo set. The softer paints need a softer brush. Use these for my outings out with my paint set. Great for A5 books on your travels .

Laser point brush. I have been trying several brushes and this thing is unreal, no wonder everyone talks great about them. It is soft but not floppy, it holds water but is very controllable. The bristles mix is great but the design is key I think, since the relationship of size of barrel and length of bristles leads to an overall conic shape , without a belly that gets out then in. Ordering the famous n8 these days.

My favourite brushes I have, and the most used. They're wonderful and hold so much water! Getting thin lines is very easy with the point, and I don't have to keep going back to load up my brush. These brushes are a treat.

I ordered the whole range from 2 to 12. This was my firsy Jackson's order and first high quality brushes so I was very excited! I checked every day where the parcel is! Finally, I got them! And oh no! What a dissapointment - these brushes are so soft, I couldn't manage to get the lines I wanted. I must mention I was a complete beginner - just 6 months after I got my first watercolors (cheap chalky cakes from China). Now, 6 months later, I have to say - these brushes are amazing! So versatile, high quality and even after a lot more ordered brushes these are my precious. Just give them some time if you are still a beginner.

Ein Träumchen dieser Pinsel. Liegt gut in der Hand, hält überdurchschnittlich viel Wasser und hat eine extrem feine Spitze. Er gleitet regelrecht über das Papier. Der Preis ist leider happig. Habe ihn in drei Größen gekauft weil er im Angebot war. Das hat sich gelohnt, denn der Hype um diesen Pinsel ist schon berechtigt.

I love it! Probably my most used brush. Black Velvets are definitely worth the hype.
