Silver Brush Black Velvet brushes are made from a blend of Squirrel hair and a new type of synthetic filament called Risslon. Because they are blended, these premium short-handled brushes possess the durability and spring of a synthetic brush, and the liquid-holding capacity of a squirrel mop, making them a great investment for any watercolorist. They are designed for use with water-based paint; principally watercolor, inks, dyes and silk paints.
The black Risslon filaments are mounted in black ferrules. Just behind the ferrule, the brush bears a distinctive silver neck band which contrasts with the glossy black finish of the handle.

Excellent brush, hold water really well and keep its shape even with heavy abuse. It can do everything you need your round brush to do - large wash, perfect lines, detail works. Though for me I should have bought a size 6 since I mainly work very small (A5 ish size), but I found myself reaching for this brush more than my size 6 ones. Great brush, gonna order a size 6 now.

I love this brush! I got it based on Mind of Watercolour's love of them and I'm not disappointed at all. If you want just one brush (as I know good brushes can be a bit of an investment) I'd definitely say start with a round size 8 black velvet!

Absolutely excellent! I bought some of these based on Steve from Mind of Watercolor’s recommendation on his channel and love of them and I haven’t been disappointed! The 1/2 inch flat has been excellent and a really good starting size for flats. The size 8 round is my favourite and the most versatile. I’d say if you’re a beginner and want one or two brushes, the size 8 round from this brand is an absolute must! And I also ordered the size 4 script liner which I haven’t had much use of yet but will probably use for trees. Want to order the size 2 because it will probably be more use for me. Overall, favourite brushes EVER.

I have been trying to paint with watercolour for many years. And recently watched Some younger artist using ablack velvet brush. They made it look much easier to form leaves, and flower petals. The brush does the work. It really works, and well worth the extra money you pay from the cheap brushes

I ordered the whole range from 2 to 12. This was my firsy Jackson's order and first high quality brushes so I was very excited! I checked every day where the parcel is! Finally, I got them! And oh no! What a dissapointment - these brushes are so soft, I couldn't manage to get the lines I wanted. I must mention I was a complete beginner - just 6 months after I got my first watercolors (cheap chalky cakes from China). Now, 6 months later, I have to say - these brushes are amazing! So versatile, high quality and even after a lot more ordered brushes these are my precious. Just give them some time if you are still a beginner.

Absolutely love this brush. It holds plenty of water or paint and keeps a really nice point. I have pure sable brushes the same size, but I prefer this one because it's slightly less floppy than the sable.

Ein Träumchen dieser Pinsel. Liegt gut in der Hand, hält überdurchschnittlich viel Wasser und hat eine extrem feine Spitze. Er gleitet regelrecht über das Papier. Der Preis ist leider happig. Habe ihn in drei Größen gekauft weil er im Angebot war. Das hat sich gelohnt, denn der Hype um diesen Pinsel ist schon berechtigt.
