Da Vinci : Cosmotop Mix B Brushes : 438 / 5530 / 5830
A brush unique to da Vinci, the CosmoTop Mix B is a combination of Kolinsky Red Sable, Russian Blue Squirrel, and Russian Fitch (Black Sable), along with small amounts of synthetic hair.
This brush features the benefits of natural hairs for watercolour: the pointing and edging of sable, the water-holding capacity and wash strokes of squirrel, and the stiffness and durability of fitch.

I like these brushes, they hold and keep a point well and the handles are comfortable to hold. (Posté le 05/02/2019)Rating - Commentaire par Karen
I actually accidentally stumbled upon this brush and I am very pleased with it. It can do detailing and wash at the same time due to its properties of the hair types used in the brush. Very good value for money that I got the larger brushes too. (Posté le 14/05/2018)Rating - Commentaire par Jennifer
Originally bought this as a large wash brush and was a little terrified by how much water it holds. Now I've played with it a bit more and love it; even though I use smaller sable brushes for most work, this is great for sketching, not just washes. Very versatile. I was at first concerned with being too soft and not holding the point very well. It has huge capacity and it complements stiffer synthetics with great loose painting character and coverage. Very well buit too. (Posté le 12/01/2018)Rating - Commentaire par Rachel
I love these brushes! They are so nice to work with! You can get such a range of line and mark from them. Plus they bounce back to a perfect point. They hold more water than any other brush I've ever owned. They are so wonderful to work with, however, they do tend to lose a couple of hairs here and there which is annoying. But they really have a bang for the buck. (Posté le 29/11/2017)Rating - Commentaire par Feefo

Not as good as I expected. (Posté le 03/10/2017)Rating - Commentaire par kelly
I really do not like this brush. It doesn't hold enough paint, and it is too soft. The fibers splay out even when wet, so it does not hold an edge, therefore useless for detail work. I hate it. (Posté le 15/09/2017)Rating - Commentaire par Olga
This brush has quickly become my favorite. It holds astounding amount of water and/or color, releasing it consistently. Despite its big size it is possible to paint fine details as the tip keeps sharp point when wet. I am able to complete full painting with just this one brush - from big washes in the sky to fine details in twigs. Excellent brush! (Posté le 07/03/2017)Rating - Commentaire par Feefo

I am a big fan of these brushes, I now have half a dozen in various sizes. I think they are well made, comfortable to use and excellent quality for the price.A.T. (Posté le 19/10/2015)Rating - Commentaire par Feefo

Very nice to use, great point and very thirsty but I think the slightly stiffer Versatil suits my style better. (Posté le 20/08/2015)Rating - Commentaire par Chris Alves
I wanted a tiny mop for washes but it really doesn't meet my need for that being too stiff. Having said that however, it is lovely to paint with in a looser style. Beautifully made and an amazingly fine point. - works as a rigger. (Posté le 20/08/2015)Rating - Commentaire par Larry Jenks
I did extensive research before I bought this brush (the #10, not the #6. Everything I read and saw in photos told me that this would be the brush I was looking for. And there are many things I love about this brush... the combination of hairs holds color very well. The handle is beautiful. The ferrule is terrific. But for the life of me, I can't get it to point. I am so disappointed, because I like everything else about this brush so much. But its pointing ability is a letdown, and I'll probably find that I don't use this brush at all. Heartbreaking. I teach watercolor classes and this brush is the best ever. It has the holding capacity of a sable and the best point too. (Posté le 15/04/2015)Rating - Commentaire par Feefo
there is enough kolinsky sable in the brush to make it soft and hold lots of paint but the synthetic part helps with the spring. I love this brush. (Posté le 23/12/2014)Rating
