BEHIND THE BRAND:
DALER-ROWNEY
One of the world's most recognisable art manufacturers
Daler-Rowney’s reputation as a manufacturer of art materials dates back to 18th century London. The chemists Richard and Thomas Rowney initially provided perfumes and powders for wigs, but when the trend was on the wane they had to diversify. Artists’ colour was an area in which they had built up their expertise, and by moving quickly with the changing times, they developed a complete range of colour. Rowney paints became popular and were used by artists from John Constable and JMW Turner, to Bridget Riley and Peter Blake. In 1983, the Rowney Company was sold to the Daler Board company, and with their combined experience, the Daler-Rowney company was founded.
FW ARTISTS' ACRYLIC INK
FW Artists’ Acrylic Ink is an acrylic-based, pigmented ink in a range of 60 colours. The fully intermixable colours have a high degree of lightfastness and can be diluted to achieve the most subtle of tones. The inks work well through airbrushes and technical pens.
SCREEN PRINTING ACRYLIC INK
Designed to permit longer working times on the screens and avoid blocking during print runs, System3 Screen Printing Acrylic Inks are solvent-free alternatives to traditional oil-based colours. They are highly pigmented and have optimal consistency for screen printing applications.
ARTISTS' HARD PASTEL
Daler-Rowney Artists’ Hard Pastels are characterised by a velvet-smooth mark, which stems from the carefully prepared blend of pure pigments. Firm in consistency, these pastels can be used to produce broad, flat areas of colour as well as detailed line work.
AQUAFINE WATERCOLOUR
Created with Daler-Rowney's expertise in watercolour paints, the Aquafine Watercolour range offers free-flowing, vibrant, and transparent colours with excellent tinting strength for an economical price. These watercolours have excellent working properties and can be used to create beautiful and delicate washes. The range consists of 33 colours, which are available in 8ml tubes or half pans, as well as in travel sets.
