Holbein : Spatter Sieve

Holbein Spatter Sieve is a metal wire mesh tool designed for creating fine spatter, misted effects, and textured applications with paint and other art materials. By rubbing a paint-loaded stiff-bristled brush across the mesh, artists can produce a controlled spray of fine droplets for building subtle shading, surface texture, atmospheric effects, and natural-looking spatter.

The sieve can also be used with soft pastels by rubbing the pastel against the metal mesh to create a fine powder. This powder can then be worked onto the surface to develop smooth gradients, soft tonal transitions, and delicate diffused effects, making the tool versatile across both painting and pastel techniques.
