Lascaux Pastelground is a fine-grained, off-white primer that prepares paper, canvas, wood, and other supports for pastel, charcoal, and watercolour. It creates a moderate to heavy tooth that grips dry media securely while maintaining excellent colour brilliance. Flexible and elastic when dry, it resists cracking and remains lightfast and age-resistant.
Quick-drying and easy to use straight from the pot, Pastelground can also be thinned with water for improved brushability or tinted with acrylic colour. Suitable for paper, card, canvas, and wood. For fabric supports such as canvas or linen, apply Lascaux Acrylic Size first to ensure optimal adhesion.
