Acrylic Primer
Acrylic primer acts as a size that seals the fibres of your substrate while also providing a lightly absorbent, textured ground suitable for oil or acrylic painting.
Acrylic primers typically contain less chalk than acrylic gesso, producing a smoother and less absorbent surface. Many painters enjoy this for controlled brushwork. Available in transparent, white, and tinted formulations, acrylic primers are best applied in several thin layers. Shop trusted options from Golden, Michael Harding, Roberson, and our own Jackson's range.
