I prefer this a lot to using sand paper as the wooden paddle helps to keep your hands clean whilst drawing.

perfect for obtaining a drawing point for Nitram charcoal and conte - I'd hesitated before buying this 'paddle' because it sounded expensive, but it is so useful, well made and of good quality. I use an old toothbrush to clean the surface, making sure to store the graphite powder residue for further use!

VGood for sharpening charcoal sticks but being able to buy spare sheets, apart from the one supplied, would be a v good idea. The block itself is quite expensive.

Works very well, have tried to sharpen pastel pencils with many implements but this works better than anything
