ShinHan Pass takes its name from a subway or metro pass. Like a travel pass that allows access to unlimited modes of transportation, ShinHan Pass allows both transparent and opaque techniques to be realised within a single tube. ShinHan Pass is hybrid of premium watercolor and gouache. The low amount of gum arabic and glycerin in this paint makes brush strokes more free and colors appear more saturated.
ShinHan Pass paints are made of the world's best pigments. These vivid colors are lightfast and each color maintains its own integrity when blending.

Review
These are very interesting and good value paints. The pigments used are mostly highly staining and intense. Includes PY1 which my not be so permanent Despite being a 'hybrid' gouache they do behave more like watercolours when painted out. Sometimes a little blotchy but I can get used to that; just brush out well. Maybe better for gouache style dry brush than conventional washes, but that's still possible. Many bright colours including some fading shocking pink and purple, but the leaflet enclosed is quite clear about the contents and fading risks and you can use safer choices such as earths also in the box - this is a massive set and includes some good choices for bright flower painting Slightly runny at first from a few tubes; give them a good shake or even better take them on a bumpy car ride in the countryside before use!

Bought these because I enjoyed their Shin Han professional watercolours and wanted to get back into gouache. I was very pleasantly surprised at how versatile these paints actually are. You can do a watercolour or gouache painting with the same set, or combine the two depending on the look you’re going for. Fantastic.
