Universal primed and suitable for work with oil paints, Jackson's Ultralite Linen Board consists of a Claessens 166 Medium Surface canvas on a durable and archival quality PVC composite board. The linen canvas is fixed to the board using a pH-neutral and acid-free glue.

The linen has a medium texture. Each Claessens linen canvas undergoes a rigorous treatment and production process in order to meet different requirements for artists. First, all raw canvases are sized with a synthetic PVA glue. For universal primed canvases, the next step involves applying a coat of acrylic-bound titanium white paint to the canvas by means of a knife. As the primer and coating are water-based, these universal primed canvases are dried in a hot-air oven, where the water can evaporate more quickly.

Whether in the studio or for plein air, these boards are ready to be created upon immediately and are lightweight enough to carry around.
