Marabu Silk is a water-based silk paint suitable for school, hobby, leisure use, and arts and crafts. The colours are intense and brilliant, with very good flow properties. It has very good lightfastness and can be thinned with water. Marabu Silk is suitable for painting on all types of silk and thin cotton fabrics. It is washing machine-resistant and dry clean-resistant after fixing.

The vibrant colours of Marabu Silk are divided into colour-shade groups, making it easy to achieve elegant combinations in toning colours for attractive creations. Marabu Silk can also be used with matching shades of Marabu Velvet Touch, Marabu Contours & Effects, Marabu Silk Easy Fix, Marabu Stencils, and Marabu Design Stamps for creating beautiful designs and effects in silk painting.

Marabu Silk is fixed by ironing or in the oven after drying. Your design can even be fixed in one single process when you also use Marabu Contours & Effects and or Marabu Velvet Touch alongside Marabu Silk.

Fixing:

Set the iron to cotton temperature and iron for 2 to 3 minutes from the reverse side, or using baking paper, 30 x 30cm per area, through a thin cotton cloth, while constantly moving the iron.

Alternatively, the silk can be fixed for approximately 8 minutes at 150°C in a preheated oven. It is recommended to lay the silk onto baking paper to avoid unwanted scorching. This fixing method is not suitable for large silks.

Clean brushes and other equipment with water immediately after use. Stir and lightly shake before use.
