Shopping online can be frustrating and overwhelming if you’re a beginner and not quite sure what you’re looking for. The team of artists and teachers at Handprinted have curated a range of kits and bundles to introduce a specific technique with everything you need to get started.
‘We want customers to be able to purchase a bundle or kit and be able to jump straight into making, for example the Linocut Bundle is made up of the products we use during our beginner linocut Fab Friday workshop. Available with water-based or oil-based ink to suit the printmakers preference. The kit is the bones of their practice which can then be added to through coloured inks or different papers.’
The products in each kit are considered and selected so that the printmaker starts their practice with good quality but affordable tools.
Cyanotype is the ‘original’ sun-printing process, one of the earliest photographic techniques. Discovered in 1842 and distinctive for producing rich, Prussian Blue monochromatic prints, it was popular well into the 20th century as an inexpensive method for reproducing photographs, documents, maps, and plans (hence the enduring architectural term blueprint) and famously, for making impressions of biological specimens in the field (photograms).
Handprinted have created their Cyanotype Bundles based around the Jaquard two-part cyanotype kit. The bundles contain everything you need to make cyanotypes with either just the sun or with an exposure lamp.
This Handprinted Cyanotype Bundle contains:
- Jaquard Cyanotype Kit
- Roll of masking tape, 1in x 50m
- Foam Brush, 50mm
- Zig Opaque Pen, 1mm
- Fabriano Unica pad, A4
- Inkjet Film A4, pack of 10
