These Jackson’s Museum Centre Bars have a depth of 20mm and are designed to fit the 25mm deep stretcher bars.
Jackson’s Museum Centre Bars assemble to make solid professional stretchers for canvas that are free from twisting or warping. Made from 100% PEFC-certified pine, the wood is first kiln-dried to remove all moisture. The pieces are then finger-jointed and triple-laminated. This removes the natural tendency of the wood to twist or warp due to changes in heat and humidity. The result is a solid, professional-quality stretcher system.
Stretcher bars are sold in pairs, while crossbars and centre bars are sold singly. Centre bar slots are included only on stretcher bars measuring 60cm or longer. centre bars 100cm or longer feature a central notch, allowing crossbars to sit flush in a lap joint, providing extra support for larger canvases. Remember when purchasing centre bars to match their length to the length of the shorter side of your canvas (i.e. the side parallel to the centre bar).
Please note, these 65mm profile centre bars that can be selected with the 65mm profile stretchers create a slight protrusion at the back of the stretcher frame – but this can be compensated for by stretching the canvas over these areas.
