Tarlatan or scrim for wiping intaglio plates is an open weave cotton fabric stiffened with starch. Before use it needs to be 'broken-in' or loosened by pulling out or running a piece around a table leg and then formed into a wiping pad.

This fine weave and dense tarlatan is suitable for heavy stiffer ink deposits.
