Tombow: Quality Japanese Art Supplies, Stationery and More

Tombow are a leading Japanese brand in brush pens, artist markers and more. They are widely used by calligraphers, illustrators, and graphic designers.

Tombow was established in 1913 when founder Harunosuke Ogawa opened a shop in Asakusa. Since then, Tombow have gone on to become an iconic Japanese brand.

In 1969, Tombow included a free MONO eraser in every 12-pack of MONO 100 pencils. It was immediately well-received and integrated into their product range. Today, the MONO eraser product line is one of the most popular erasers in the world.

Wonderfully, there are only two registered colour trademarks in Japan: the supermarket chain 7-Eleven and the MONO tricolour. This means that no other company is allowed to use this colour combination.

Tombow produces a wide range of products for artists and creatives. Their Dual Brush Pens use water-based ink, allowing for seamless blending and watercolour effects. For technical drawing and fine detail work, the Tombow Mono Drawing Pencils and Mono Zero Erasers provide precision and control, making them essential tools for architects, designers, and professional artists.

Tombow’s reputation for high quality ink formulations and innovative brush pen designs has made it a favourite among modern calligraphy artists and illustrators worldwide.
