Derwent : Inktense XL Block : Payne's Grey

Derwent Inktense XL Blocks are a range of chunky, pastel-like, watersoluble blocks that deliver intensely vibrant colour. The soft-textured XL block has been ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hand, allowing you to freely lay down broad strokes and expressive marks, but also the control to add fine detail.

Inktense XL blocks combine the brilliant, vivid colours of Inktense Pencils with the freedom of blocks, making it easy to cover large areas very quickly. You can use these watercolour blocks dry or add water to create deep, intense colour washes. Due to their permanence once dry, Inktense doesn't wash away like watercolour, so it can be worked over without affecting previous layers. Inktense blocks can be used on more than just paper - due to the staining power of the pigments, you can use them on many porous surfaces, including canvas, ceramic, wood, and fabric. XL blocks have an approximate measurement of 60 x 20 x 20mm each.
